American Thompson, 16, Becomes Youngest Ladies Euro Tour Winner

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — American teenager Lexi Thompson has made history as the youngest winner on both the LPGA and Ladies European Tours.

The 16-year-old Thompson shot a 5-under 67 Saturday to win the Dubai Ladies Masters, becoming the youngest professional winner on that side of the Atlantic.

Thompson pulled away from Lee-Anne Pace of South Africa to win by four strokes for her second professional victory. In September, she became the youngest winner of an LPGA tournament at the Navistar LPGA Classic in Alabama.

"It feels amazing," Thompson said. "I'm just honored they invited me back and I'm just grateful to be here. I've been working on my game really hard and it has paid off." Mizuno MP-69 Irons

Thompson chipped in for a birdie on No. 9 to take a one-shot lead over Pace and extended her lead with four birdies on the back nine for a 15-under 273 total.

Pace (69) started strong with two birdies and an eagle on her first six holes, but shaky putting on the back nine ended her chances.

The 2010 European Tour money winner, Pace hit her approach shot on No. 12 over the green for her second bogey in five holes.

"Things could have been a little different," Pace said. "I hit a bad club on 12, which cost me a shot, and that is where things changed around." Titleist CB 712 Irons

Sophie Gustafson of Sweden was a shot behind Pace in third place followed by four players another shot back.

Michelle Wie came into the final round five shots behind leader Thompson. She fell out of contention with two bogeys and a double-bogey on the front nine, finishing tied for 12th.

"It was pretty frustrating. I couldn't get my putts going," Wie said. "I just needed to play better on the front nine all week. Nothing really went. Nothing went in. At least, I finished birdie, birdie. I gotta work on a lot of things for next season."

Thompson's father Scott, who caddies for her, said he was most impressed how she handled the pressure when Pace made her run.

"She didn't panic and kept playing her game, not worrying about what else anyone was doing," he said.

Wie offered a congratulatory tweet and predicted she would be force to reckon with in the future. The 22-year-old Wie praised the support Thompson gets not only from her father but her entire entourage.

Men's Golf: Mizuno MP 68 irons

Merry Christmas! golf-clubs-sale.com offers cheap golf clubs for sale. If you are looking for a new golf club set, this online golf shop should be your first choice. Here I strongly recommend the Mizuno MP 68 Irons.

Upon first look the MP-68s are just another set of blades from Mizuno. They have been forging these things forever, or so it seems. The grain-flow forged heads always offer the softest feeling shots of any club on the market. They combine that awesome feeling with stunningly simple looks. These things are just a given from Mizuno.

The new Mizuno MP 68 Blade moves away from the cut muscle design that the MP-67 had and resembles the MP-37 with the muscle back developing from the toe area. The muscle back lines and edges however are smoother on the MP-68 than the MP-37 and some in Japan have said it reminds them of the classic MP-14 with its curved muscle back and sharp toe.

Mizuno has also followed suit with its 2009 design guidlines by placing the running bird logo on the sole and the model MP 68 Irons with new MP logo in the toe corner. The 0verall head and face is very compact and coupled with the thick muscle provide the purest feel of any Mizuno grain flow forged blade.

At last, don't miss the opportunity to try it!

Woods Builds a Big Lead at Chevron

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Tiger Woods knows he's playing better than he has in the last two years, and he has the leaderboard to prove it.

Woods hit a half-dozen extraordinary shots Friday in the Chevron World Challenge on his way to a 5-under 67, giving him a three-shot lead over Matt Kuchar and K.J. Choi going into the weekend at Sherwood Country Club. TaylorMade R9 Irons

It was the second straight tournament that Woods had the 36-hole lead. Three weeks ago at the Australian Open, he was one shot ahead until a 75 in the third round. Woods wound up in third place at The Lakes, his best finish of the year.

With each round, it looks as though his best might not be too far behind.

Woods had two eagles, and nearly had a third with a flop shot from behind the 13th green that he was still talking about long after his round. Not even a double bogey on the par-3 15th hole when a gust knocked his ball into the water could keep him from a comfortable lead after two rounds. Ping G20 Irons for sale

"I want the lead after four days," said Woods, winless in his last 26 official starts dating to the Australian Masters in November 2009. "Two days is nice, but four days is even better. I know I'm playing better, and it's nice to see my position on the leaderboard equating to it.

"Two stroke-play events in a row I've played really well."

Woods was at 8-under 136 and will play in the final group Saturday with Kuchar, who still is trying to figure out how to finish off a good day at Sherwood.

At least this time, Kuchar only came up short and into the water on the 18th for a bogey. In the opening round, he was two shots out of the lead until a triple bogey on the 16th and a bogey on the 17th sent him to a 72. Kuchar played well again as the wind arrived in the middle of the round, and shot 67 to match Woods and Zach Johnson for the best score of the day. Callaway RAZR X Irons

"I always thought as a player, if you had a chance ... and you want to test yourself against the very best, it seemed like, man, if you could go toe-to-toe with Tiger Woods and have a chance to beat him, that's a real feather in your cap," Kuchar said. "And you want his best. You don't want to see him struggling and missing cuts. That's no fun to say, 'I beat Tiger Woods. He missed the cut and I had a 15th-place finish.' You want him at his best going toe-to-toe coming down to the wire.

"And it's fun to see him at that point."

Choi had a three-shot lead over Woods through six holes and was staying with him until hitting in the water twice on the par-3 15th, taking a quadruple-bogey 7. Choi bounced back with a birdie and salvaged a 73.

Is Taylormade R9 SuperTri Driver in Your Bag?

I can now announce that the TaylorMade R9 Supertri Driver is one very very sexy golf club. Now this is not something I would say to get you to like it the same way I do but holding this thing in your hands and you realize that the feel of the club is as nice as the look of the club.

The TaylorMade R9 Supertri offers terrific distance that is achieved through optimization. This club has a 460cc head and a lower cg, meaning long shots that get you to the green faster. This club promotes up to 75 yards of side-to-side trajectory change for straighter, longer tee shots. This club has a new aerodynamic shape with deeper face, meaning bigger hits with more spin, which carries the ball farther.

TaylorMade have publicly stated that this club is both higher launch and higher spin that the original R9. This makes the R9 Supertri Driver suitable for a much wider range of players since more than a few players were surprised with the low launch/low spin qualities of the R9. The launch and spin levels are pretty much perfect for both the average golfer and for those with faster swings although those with swing speeds over 100 mph will probably want to investigate something other than the stock 60g Fujikura Motore shaft.

This club is all about the forgiveness. Hit anywhere on the face and you'll get a great result, one comment I heard was that it was 'stupid easy to hit'. You practically have to miss the ball to get anything other than maximum distance flight. In fact you almost always feel like you're hitting it out of the screws. This forgiveness is allied to phenomenal straightness – far straighter than you would expect in a head that is not square or triangular. Of course this straightness is assuming that you don't alter the set up of the club.

Overall, the driver is awesome to own. I put it in my bag about a week ago and have already noticed that I hit farther and more accurate, so I highly recommend it for anyone struggling with their driver.

New and Excellent Callaway X24 Irons

Can you believe the staff at Callaway! they redevelop their famous X series of golf irons and put the latest, newest, HOTTEST technology into them and bring us the X-24 Irons.

I've been quietly longing to purchase some new irons, but had heard through the internet that the Callaway X-24 was being released soon. I am so glad that I waited. The word that I got from some friends of mine on the 'inside' was that the X24 was going to be the number one iron available on the market this year. They had the opportunity to try the new irons out before they were released and were both extremely excited about them.

According to Callaway Golf, the new irons feature technologies that make them the iron to get, especially if you are an X fan as I am. The Callaway X24 Irons feature a new face technology that they call VFT. This feature makes the clubface extremely responsive. I'm talking lonnnnnggggg. The feel of the ball coming off of this face is something that you have to experience for yourself. If you get a chance to hit one at your local golf shop, DO IT! You won't be disappointed.

As with all of the Callaway X series irons, these clubs feature perimeter weighting that will help those that don't hit the ball perfect every time keep the ball on the target line. The Callaway X24 gets the ball up in the air easily with a nice, boring trajectory. And of course, the X24 comes with the bore through hosel, which make Callaway's clubs' feel extraordinary.

The only thing that I don't like about my new Callaway X-24 irons is that I have to hit the ground with them. Seriously, have you ever bought something that you just cherish and don't want to abuse? That's how I feel about these irons.
